Caramel Apple Pie Cupcakes

My caramel apple pie is a favorite among friends and family. But since it is best enjoyed hot out of the oven, it's not so convenient for bringing along places unless you can actually bake it at the place of presentation.

So to transform this favorite into a more travel friendly treat, I used a cinnamon cake and filled it with my usual filling for the pie. Then I topped each with a caramel buttercream, sprinkled with cinnamon and drizzled with caramel.

They turned out fantastic! Next time I will have to figure out a way to stuff even more appley goodness into each.
